Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Qiblati iOS application ("Qiblati", "the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use it. By installing and using the app you acknowledge the practices described below.

Summary

Information the App Uses

Location data. With your permission, Qiblati reads your device's location (latitude and longitude) and compass heading. This data is used only on your device to calculate the great-circle bearing from your position to the coordinates of the Holy Kaaba in Mecca. The location never leaves your device. We do not log, store, or transmit it. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Qiblati. If you prefer not to grant location access, you can select a city manually from the app's Settings screen and the app will still work.

Purchases. If you make a purchase (for example, the one-time "Remove Ads" purchase), the transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. We receive only a signed receipt indicating whether the purchase is valid. We never see your Apple ID, credit card, billing address, or any other payment information.

Device information. The app does not collect identifiers such as your email address, name, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone data, or health data.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob. Qiblati displays a single banner advertisement at the bottom of the screen via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect limited technical data for ad delivery and measurement, including device-level identifiers (such as SKAdNetwork postbacks), coarse location inferred from your IP address, and general device information. Qiblati does not share your precise GPS location with AdMob. Qiblati does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the IDFA for cross-app tracking. If you purchase "Remove Ads", the banner will no longer be shown and AdMob will no longer receive any data from the app.

Apple StoreKit. Purchases and restores are processed by Apple. Apple's practices are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

Apple MapKit. The app uses Apple MapKit to display the map and the geodesic arc to Mecca. MapKit is provided by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy practices.

Children's Privacy

Qiblati is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the issue.

Data Retention

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is nothing to retain or delete on our side. Any data held on your device (such as your app preferences and purchase status) is removed when you uninstall the app.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data held about you. Since we do not store personal data, requests for access or deletion on our side will confirm that no such data exists. You can always manage location permissions, ad settings, and purchase history through your device's iOS Settings and your Apple ID account.

Security

Because no personal data is transmitted from the app to our servers, there is no server-side database of user information to protect. Data on your device is protected by iOS's standard security model.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in a future app update's release notes.
